Take Care Spa DC Facials / Discount Code

I took a 5 month hiatus from any beauty treatments such as facials, but most spas are opening up their books in Maryland and DC (I don’t know about Virginia b/c it’s vague) so I wanted to share with you my experience of getting a facial during this pandemic so you know what to expect. Before you book an appointment, I found this guide helpful for each state. It’s from Associated Skin Care Professionals and contains each states requirements for estheticians.

I got my “return to beauty” facial in DC at Take Care. The Take Care spa was so incredibly clean which I know a lot of people are concerned about. I am always concerned about spa cleanliness, but I wanted to assure you that it’s very, very clean. I also want you to know what to expect. As soon as you walk in the spa at Take Care, they do take your temperature and you have to wear a mask in the store. You can take the mask off during your facial.

I did the Express Facial and added the add-on foot treatment. Here is their spa menu. If you are pressed for time or want to start out baby steps with a facial, I highly recommend the Express Facial. It does everything you need a facial to do in less time and no downtime, so you could attend an event or meeting right after. The Express Facial can also target a specific problem. For example, I had really dry and flaky skin from being home so much. I asked Heather (My esthetician at Take Care) to really get in there and get me glowing and that is exactly what she did! This is a terrible photo of me after the Express Facial, but my skin looks so good and there is no filter.

The foot treatment add-on was everything I didn’t know I needed. I told Heather my feet were so gross because my in-home pedicures simply weren’t cutting it. She reminded me that we are all in the same boat and there is zero judgement.

For the express foot facial, Take Care uses all Naturally London products. The products are some of the best foot products that I’ve ever used. Chris (the founder) makes her own scent blends out of disdain for the scent of tea tree and peppermint in most foot products. Literally, a breath of fresh air! Naturally London is also BIPOC owned and based out of the DC area.

My feet were so well moisturized after the foot facial and I would absolutely add the foot facial onto my treatment again. Oh and you might be wondering how the foot facial is mixed in with your regular facial treatment, I was wondering that too. When your longest treatment is happening, (for example when your face mask is drying) the esthetician will slip down and do your feet and then thoroughly clean up and finish your face.

Before I wrap up, I wanted to share how innovative and clean Take Care is. Becky’s husband, Trevor created this really cool structure in the treatment room that filters the air particles from your breath to the outside alley in Georgetown. This gives you and the esthetician working with you a little more comfort when treatment is in session.
