Holistic and Organic Facials in Florida

I am excited to re-birth my holistic and organic facial series in a new location — The Sunshine State! First up is the beautifully curated Blue Morpho Organic Skin Shop in the cutest beach town in south-ish Florida: Indian Harbour Beach.

I booked the Apothecary Facial with Kate, and it was incredible. Kate tailors the treatment to exactly what your skin needs, drawing on her expert intuition and more than 20 years of experience as an esthetician.

Every scent in my facial was intoxicating — especially since Kate used many Laurel Skin products on me. The facial also included a luxurious face and décolletage massage, and it even extended to my arms, which was a special treat.

I arrived at my facial with a little sun/wind burn from being outside earlier, and Kate said, “Don’t worry — that redness will go away because I’ll be using tons of antioxidants on you.” I have reactive skin and have always left facials looking pretty red. Kate was right, though: I left less red, with a healthy glow. My skin felt so clear and clean.

I browsed around the beautifully curated shop and was acquainted with some new clean beauty brands as well as familiar favorites. I ended up purchasing Laurel Skin’s Essential Lipids Delicate Barrier, which I will use as an oil cleanser and to hydrate some dry patches around my nose.

Kate confirmed what I already knew about my skin — less is more for me, and that is what my skin needs. She put into words what I’ve always known about my skin.

Blue Morpho also specializes in clearing up acne. I have a friend who brings her teenage daughter in for facials with Kate every three months, and her skin looks incredible.

My next facial at Blue Morpho will be the lymphatic drainage facial, and I’m also booking the full-body “Quench” massage for my dry skin. During the full-body massage, your body is cocooned in a honey-avocado mask to help the skin deeply absorb nourishment. I’m really excited to try their handmade body butters that they use during massages! It’s surprisingly hard to find massage therapists who use truly organic and natural products, so this is a no-brainer for me.

Lastly, I have to sign off with a delicious food plug because I’m basically the Guy Fieri of holistic hole-in-the-wall spots. Right next to the shop is a tasty, mostly vegan café called Happy Healthy Human.

They’re known for their house-made Brazil nut mylk smoothies and delicious nut-based dressings and dips. I ordered their delectable mocha-mint smoothie, which was perfect for a sunny yet semi-chilly Florida day.

They also carry specialty products, including one of my favorite hard-to-find health brands, Subluna.

Thanks for popping in on my holistic facial revival and for supporting “old school blogging” with real photos and non-AI writing!
